We did it!
|
Last Saturday, on the 10th of August, we celebrated 19 years. With guidance from Jeanette, the teens baked four delicious chocolate cakes. A big thank you to Glen and Querida' Read for their recent donation of an amazing oven, which enabled us to bake the cakes.
|
|
It was a grand occasion. The cakes were delicious, and the children also enjoyed a cold, yummy chocolate drink sponsored by Top Choco Ghana. To top it off, we were blessed with visitors from Accra: Theresa, her son Liam, and Muriel.
|

Mathematics Competition - Give it your 100%!
|
The Mathematics Competition went exceptionally well at the Learning Centre in Kitase, E/R, and under the pavilion in Dibisi, NE/R. All the children performed incredibly well.
|
|

School Holidays!
|
There are always a lot of fun activities when the children are on holiday. Recently, the younger children participated in a science session on tasting and had fun making and playing with playdough. The older students are also enjoying this time with a number of activities, including table tennis and art. One of their creations, titled "Fruits of the Spirit," is pictured right.

The children continue to thrive. Every week they enjoy new activities. The recent African country studied was Burkina Faso and the Bible verse: "Teach us to number our days, that we may have a heart of wisdom." Psalm 90:12
|

Look what's ahead!
|
With the school holiday program now in full swing and the addition of our new oven, we are planning to do a lot of baking with the students. Simple sewing skills will also be included.
|
|
On another note, the vegetable garden is going well. We'll share more on this in our next newsletter
|
|
We will also be officially announcing the donation from the New Zealand High Commission with a special launch event.
|
