Vacation Classes!

We have just completed an amazing two-weeks of Vacation Classes at Children of the Light. Each day began with a morning devotion, where a new Bible message was shared. Silas Azong, our manager from the North, has been with us for training and has been an incredible help during this time. He also played different roles during the morning devotion, including King Solomon, Prophet Samuel, and Goliath. David, of course, faced him with no fear. Let us remember, no matter what we face, the battle belongs to the LORD. Trust Him!

What Our Classes Included: A Summary

The children learned hand-sewing, baking, reading music, and beading, and participated in health and safety sessions, including fire safety and nutrition. They also researched and prepared a project on Cabo Verde and Cameroon, worked on a climate change project, and learned about IT, the circulatory system, and natural resources. Thank you, Ms Beads Afrik, for the beautiful cloth you donated some time ago. It has been wonderful for the sewing classes. We also extend our gratitude to Top Choco Ghana and Flora Tissue for continually supplying us with so many treats.

Flooding!

Due to flooding, our staff member, Lawrence Bingo, has struggled with classes for the past two weeks in the North. The floods have prevented him from leaving the village to meet with the other children. Sadly, many people have lost their farms to the rising water. While the water is now receding, please keep these families in your prayers, as they depend on their farms for survival. If you wish to help, please let us know.

Classes in the North East!

Even with the challenge the children in Dibisi enjoyed the special time of having sessions everyday. They are getting so good at multiplication, they also researched and prepared projects on Cabo Verde. Cabo Verde is and island country off the coast of Senegal.
The children also made beautiful posters of the Bible verse:
I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. John 15:1

Incredible Support from the New Zealand High Commission!

In our last edition of Praise News, we mentioned a grant we received from the NZ High Commission. Over the years, we have faced many challenges with our solar system. The NZ High commission granted us a completely new system, which is absolutely amazing. As we are off the grid and rely entirely on solar power, having a system like this is truly a blessing.
We were also sponsored with laptops: two will go to our branch in Northern Ghana, and two will stay here. Another blessing is that the centre now has fans throughout, and we have secured an insurance policy, making us fully insured. Thank you so much to High Commissioner Michael Upton, everyone at the High Commission, and the people of NZ who made this grant possible. We are truly grateful.

Look what's ahead!

With World Cleanup Day coming up on Saturday, 21st September, we are planning to do our part. We encourage everyone to take part in this day.
"The whole creation groans."

Let’s keep our planet clean and green!
Regular classes will continue, and we are also planning our annual 'Career Day.' Stay tuned!

Message from Jeanette!

Last week, we were blessed with a birthday donation from Evamaria Sarkodee Ahadzi. With part of this donation, we shared ice cream with the children and are planning a special treat for the children in the North. God bless you, Evamaria.
I also wish to sincerely thank everyone who supports us. With your help, we are able to achieve so much. May He grant you the desires of your heart and make all your plans succeed. God bless you!
