World Cleanup Day!

September marked Cleanup Month, and 20th September was World Cleanup Day. This year, we did our part. The children in Kitase cleaned the streets near the centre of plastic waste, while the children at our branch in Northern Ghana cleaned areas in two villages—one near the river and the other at the local market. They all worked hard to make a difference. After the event, Top Choco treats and fruit were shared.

Regular Classes Continue!

At the centre in Kitase, regular classes continue. As part of this, the African country projects are ongoing, and with the food we grow at the centre, we serve the children nutritious meals on special occasions, particularly on Saturdays. It’s a lot of work on the farm, and we always need extra hands. Please let us know if you are interested in planting and pulling a few weeds.

Fun-Filled Days at Our Northern Ghana Branch!

The children continue to thrive at our branch in Northern Ghana. We do have plans to build a library there, but all in God's time. As of now, we are working with close to 200 children weekly. We now have two full-time staff members working with the children: Manager/Teacher Silas Azong and Teacher Lawrence Laar Bingo. The 200 children are divided into small groups throughout the week. Much of the teaching involves going out to the various villages to meet the children. They are doing incredibly well and love the classes.

Bible Time!

Our fortnightly Bible Verse continues in both centres. As we have said before, it is first taught in their mother tongue and then in English. The children always prepare a poster of the chosen verse to take home. A beautiful verse with a great promise was recently taught.
'And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.' — Isaiah 54:13

There is always a way!

Due to the recent flooding, the staff in the North have faced significant challenges in reaching one village to teach the children. As you can see in the photo, a portion of the road is not accessible by bike, which means the motorbike is carried on the canoe to cross that section. You can imagine the children's excitement when they finally hear the motorbike approaching.

#ActForChange - SHOPRITE!

In our July Newsletter, we featured the 4000L polytank donation we received from SHOPRITE Ghana. It is now all set in place on a concrete stand, and with all the rain we've been having, it is filling up fast. This will greatly help keep our vegetable garden thriving during the dry season. That said, we have great cocoa seedlings to plant, and the pepper plants are giving us a good harvest.

Look what's ahead!

We are planning a 'Careers Day' this month. The children will have a chance to dress up in various attire and share who they are and what they do.
Regular classes will continue in both centres, and we are planning to put in place everything needed to start working with a new group of boys at our branch in Northern Ghana. These boys have never had a chance to attend school. We have hopeful and exciting days ahead.
STAY TUNED!

Message from Jeanette!

I am currently not in Ghana but will return soon. I continue to work non-stop, communicating with those back in Ghana and keeping up with all the paperwork. I am so thankful for the creative CotL staff who give their all to teach the children. God bless you all!
On a final note, thank you once again to all who support us. Words cannot express my gratitude.
May the light and love of our LORD Jesus Christ be with you all.
Many blessings!
