World Water Day - Creation Care!
|
22nd March marks World Water Day. We at Children of the Light cleaned water bodies at two locations, one on the banks of the White Volta in the North East Region, and the other at the stream, which borders the Kitase Learning Centre in the Eastern Region. The day ended with treats from Top Choco Ghana. Well done, children!

Bible Time!
|
Bible Time is always a special time. Since the last edition of Praise News, many stories have been shared with the children—Noah’s Ark, the Tower of Babel, Isaac: The Test, a Wife for Isaac, and A parable: The wedding banquet. We use props to help the children understand the lessons, and these also help fix the stories in their minds. God’s Word instructs us to meditate on it day and night, and this means committing time to read it.

Fulani Children!
|
We are now working with two groups of Fulani children. One particular group is far off the beaten track. It’s a tough journey, especially when the sun is scorching, but we are not going to give up. The children are picking up incredibly fast, and in time, the plan is to find a good school to admit them into. This will mean they enter school with a strong foundation. We all enjoy the time together.

Sisterhood & Brotherhood!
|
We held a Sisterhood Program at our branch, as well as our first-ever Brotherhood Program, and both went so well. Silas led the boys, and Belinda (Silas' sister) led the girls. A special thank you to Days for Girls NZ for the wonderful DfG Kits we received from Choose Love Ghana some time back, which we divided and shared with the girls. We also gave handkerchiefs, soap, and lime to the boys.

We send out a big thank you for the donations in kind. Firstly, a wonderful large bag of Ghanaian glass beads from Nzinga Nzinga, there are lots of fun days ahead with these! We also received a box of beautiful clothing and school supplies from Pauline Stanley in the UK. Such a delight! There are sure to be many happy faces when we share out the lovely clothing.

Special Visitors!
|
Our branch had a visit from Rev. Ishmael Batanga, Founder of the Inner Peace Initiative in Nalerigu, North East Region. It was a great day of sharing.
|
|
Back at base, we also had a visit from Hon. Patricia A. Kumoji, CEO of the Patricia-Varga Int. Foundation. It was a delight—and not only that, she gifted shoes to the girls who were at the Centre that day. What a treat! Thank you.
|

|
Look what's ahead!
|
Easter Saturday is our big upcoming program, and the theme is "JESUS LIVES." The children have been rehearsing and will continue in the days leading up to the event. It will take place in both locations, allowing the message of the greatest miracle to be shared with many. To God be the glory!
|
|
This month also marks Earth Day, Tuesday, 22nd April, a day to plant a tree. We will be planting, and we encourage you to do the same.
|
|
Amid all these activities, regular classes continue in both locations.
|
|

Message from Jeanette!
|
My time in Northern Ghana went well, to God be the glory. The team in the North is doing well. A few changes were made to improve the program, but overall, things are progressing nicely. Well done to our Manager, Silas Azong, and his colleague, Lawrence Bingo.
|
|
The plan is to build a beautiful Learning Centre up there for many children to enjoy. In time, this will surely come to pass. With God, all things are possible.
|
|
On arriving back in Kitase, all was well. Thank you to Patience Akunduo and Bright Addo, who held the fort in my absence.
|
|
|
|
|
I want to say a big thank you to all our supporters. May Jesus continue to bless and keep you all. A special thank you to the Hosanna Trust Foundation for their recent donation, it was so timely. Thank you!
