Career Day!
On Saturday, 26 October, we held a Career Day at the Kitase Learning Centre. The children had a lot of fun dressing up in various attire. Two skits were also included. In the first, a stage was set with a receptionist, where someone demonstrated both the wrong and right ways to drop off a job application. In the second, a director called in the next applicant for a job interview, again showing both incorrect and correct approaches. The children were taught what to do and what not to do in both situations.

Always so much happening!
Take a look at this beautiful group project on the Respiratory System. Great work by the students and their teacher, Sarah Moxon. Also pictured a short skit with a shepherd and an angel. I wonder what the angel is telling the shepherd?

The walls at the centre are constantly changing with the students' work. If you're in Ghana or near by Aburi, do pop by—we would love to see you!

Never a dull moment!
One highlight at our branch since the last newsletter was a short drama about the first settlers of the two villages, Bulbia and Yama, in the North East Region. The children and teachers had a lot of fun putting this together.
|
Country projects continue, and in the Fulani class, the children are learning how to keep records of their parents' livestock. Once they master this skill, it will be valuable knowledge to share with their parents.
|
With the numerous amount of children we work with, refreshments are always served. We are so grateful to Top Choco Ghana for their ongoing support, as it really helps us treat the children.

Bible Time!
Our fortnightly Bible verse continues at both centres. Given the setting of some of our classes, as you can see in the photo, it’s easy to explain the verse using the surroundings.

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. Psalm 23:1,2

The Cowboys!
In the last newsletter, we mentioned a new group of children we’ll be working with: The Fulani boys. Due to their daily work grazing cows, they haven’t been able to attend our classes. In response, our Manager (pictured), Silas Azong, and coworker, Lawrence Bingo, will now meet with the boys weekly where they actually graze the cows. Classes will officially begin this week at the spot marked by the bag. Watch this space!

Picking up the pieces!
In the early hours of the morning, Silas Azong, woke up to a strange sound near our small library in the North. Thieves had broken in and scattered many items. At this stage, we’re missing pencils and erasers from our stock. It’s frustrating, but thankfully no one was hurt, and we’re working on adding stronger locks. The goal is to build a proper library in the North, and it will happen as God remains faithful!

Look what's ahead!
There is always a lot of planning ahead. We plan to hold a spelling test for the older children, which will be conducted in both the local dialect and English. More on this in the next newsletter.
|
We also have our annual Christmas production coming up. The script is ready, so rehearsals will start soon. This is the most beautiful story ever told, yet sadly, many still have not heard it. Thank you for helping us reach the unreached in so many ways. To God be the glory!

Message from Jeanette!
My time in NZ continues to go well. I was blessed to organize a treasure hunt with the little ones in the photo opposite. The hidden treasure was finding the letters to spell J-E-S-U-S. My 2-year-old grandson can now spell JESUS!
|
Speaking of little ones, Patience Akunduo, our long-term staff member, recently gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Both mum and baby are doing well—congratulations!
|
Thank you to everyone who supports our work. You are a blessing!
