Faith and Learning Camp 2025!
With the children now on school holidays, it is a busy time for us. We are in the third week of the program. Although we have called it a camp, the children are not staying overnight. Many activities are taking place, along with Bible lessons using the Book of 1st Samuel. Snacks are provided every day, and a meal is served every Wednesday.
We say a big thank you to Akosua Sarpong, founder of the Christ Hands and Feet Foundation, for her generous food donations, including fresh produce, grains (such as rice and popcorn), eggs and margarine. This support has been an incredible help.
Akosua also joined us to make pancakes with the children, one batch from scratch and another using her donated pancake mix. Thank you so much, Akosua!

School bags packed with items for 250 children!
We recently received an amazing donation of 250 school bags, each filled with school supplies and hygiene products. This generous gift is from School in a Bag and produced by Trashy Bags Africa. So far, 200 have been distributed at our branch in Northern Ghana, with the remaining 50 to be given to children at the Centre in Kitase, Eastern Region, during our 20th Anniversary celebration later this month.

Mathematics Competition!
Our Northern Ghana branch held a successful two-day Mathematics Competition, Lower Primary on day one and Upper Primary on day two. The children did well in a tough contest, with winners receiving great prizes and everyone enjoying popcorn and Top Choco. Kitase’s competition has been postponed to the first Saturday in September.

25 Hygiene Parcels to DRC!
We recently put together 25 colourful parcels containing a washcloth and a bar of soap as gifts for people in Goma, DRC. Jeanette met Dr. Eraston Kighoma from Goma at church, and before he returned home, we were able to organise the parcels. Let us keep Congo in our prayers, a country rich in resources, but sadly, this wealth is not benefiting its people.

Learning to Stay Safe!
During the Faith and Learning Camp, we held a Road Safety class. After the session, the children received handouts to colour.
Driving and walking as a pedestrian in Ghana has many challenges, so we encourage the children to share what they learned at home.
This week, we are planning a Fire Safety session.

We are about to celebrate our 20th Anniversary.

It’s hard to believe that 20 years have passed. Through every challenge and blessing, God has been faithful.

Message from Jeanette!
Currently, the centre is alive with activity, and the children are loving it. With the 20th Anniversary nearing, rehearsals are also underway.

I recently faced some serious vehicle challenges, but my dear mother helped get both vehicles back on the road. Mum, thank you so much, you have been such a blessing to Children of the Light over these past 20 years. I don’t know anyone who knows the ins and outs as well as you do. God bless you!
I take this opportunity to thank everyone who has played a part in bringing us to where we are today. Words truly cannot express my gratitude. THANK YOU!
