PRAISE NEWS

Edition 52 - January 2024

Wishing you all a blessed New Year!

We are excited to share that the Christmas events went exceptionally well. In Kitase, Eastern Region, the children walked the streets singing Christmas carols, dressed in Nativity Attire. Traffic paused, allowing many to witness this joyous occasion.
And then in Dibisi, North East Region, the children performed the Nativity Play, and those from the surrounding villages came to watch. It was a day that will always be remembered.
To God be the glory!

Christmas lunch for the multitudes

This year, with the support of Geodrill, Topchoco Ghana, TIS - CAS Projects, and the wonderful friends of Children of the Light, we had the joy of providing a Christmas meal to over 450 children, collectively, in Kitase Eastern Region, and at our branch in Northern Ghana.
In addition, we distributed Christmas gifts to many children, and those aged 12 and above received a Bible.

Precious Moments

At the end of December, Jeanette's daughter, Asantewa, and her two boys arrived, along with her friend Naomi and son. It has been seven years since Asantewa has been home, and we are so grateful to have her home. Asantewa brought along an extremely large amount of children's clothes and school supplies. The school supplies will be utilised at the centre, while the clothes will be distributed.
The beautiful photo below was taken at the vibrant Accra Arts Centre.

We celebrated a second wedding in December

We extend our congratulations to Patience Akunduo, a long-term member of our staff, and her husband, Emmanuel Atteh, on their wedding held on Saturday, December 30th.
Wishing this lovely couple a lifetime of happiness.

Building a small pavilion

The construction of the small pavilion at our branch in Northern Ghana is ongoing. We successfully completed the first stage, which was used for the Christmas events.
Currently, Silas Anukaru and his team are concentrating on the concrete flooring and the construction of a small miniature wall around it.

Look what's ahead!

We have exciting plans for 2024. Classes will reopen next week, and our first task is to prepare for Black History Month in February. We will also continue our ongoing classes, providing quality education to the many children we work with. With all the resources we have received the children are in for a lot of fun.
Before these activities kick off, we are planning a day to continue giving colorful hygiene parcels to the elderly in Kitase and at our branch in Northern Ghana.

Message from Jeanette

It's been all go, but here's some good news – we've upgraded four solar batteries at the centre. For the first time in a long while, we have electricity until morning. The previous batteries were no longer effective, and our lighting was limited to sunrise to sunset. I'm incredibly thankful for this improvement.
To add, it's truly a joy to have my grandchildren with me at the moment. I feel incredibly blessed!
I want to express my deepest thanks to everyone who supports us. May God richly bless all of you for your kindness.
